ABOUT THE CENTER

The Caraga Food Innovation Center is a collaborative project of DOST-Caraga and Caraga State University. The center serves as a hub for innovations, research and development, and technical support services for value-adding of fresh produce and development of processed food in the region. FIC will also help each aspiring local entrepreneur and micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their products, improve quality and sustainability, and make use of underutilized crops through product development and innovation.

OBJECTIVES

  • Improve local processing technologies and establish quality standards for existing and new products.
  • Provide equipment support for the food processing systems through application of new technologies.
  • Develop innovative food products utilizing locally available materials.
  • Design packaging and labeling for products that comply with standards and regulations in domestic and export markets.
  • Conduct capability building activities for MSMEs, students, and other stakeholders.
